3.  Need A Speaker
Over the past few years I have been blessed to be heavily involved in the student ministry at our church, writing and creating resources for www.youthministrytoolbox.com and Disciple Now Curriculum  and on top of all that i am a high school teacher.  Being able to have that connection with the church and the community has placed a special burden and message on my heart for the church and for the lost world around us.  I believe God is calling me to expand the ministry and connection that I have by going out and sharing this message and burden.  I would love the opportunity to come and speak at your church or event and be a part of the ministry you are doing.  Go to www.buckbaskin.com and contact me and you'll receive a free 30 day devotional along with 5 ways to impact school campuses.  Let's work together to see how we can impact your church and community.
Have a great week!

Introduction:

·         God at the Movies?
·         The world of Pandora
1. Two roads to betrayal
  • Intentional

One of the Twelve went to the chief priests. His name was Judas Iscariot. He asked, "What will you give me if I hand Jesus over to you?" So they counted out 30 silver coins for him. From then on, Judas watched for the right time to hand Jesus over to them.  Matthew 26:14-16
  • Accidental / Falling

Jesus told them, “This very night you will all turn away because of me.”
Peter replied, “All the others may turn away because of you. But I never will.” “What I'm about to tell you is true,” Jesus answered. “It will happen this very night. Before the rooster crows, you will say three times that you don't know me.” But Peter said, “I may have to die with you. But I will never say I don't know you.” And all the other disciples said the same thing.  Matthew 26:31, 33-35

2. Redemption after betrayal
  • Admit my guiltconfession
  • Face the music – no avoidance
  • Receive forgiveness
  • Return to faithfulness

When Jesus and the disciples had finished eating, Jesus spoke to Simon Peter. He asked, “Simon, son of John, do you really love me more than these others do?” “Yes, Lord,” he answered. “You know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.” Again Jesus asked, “Simon, son of John, do you really love me?” He answered, “Yes, Lord. You know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.” Jesus spoke to him a third time. He asked, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter felt bad because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He answered, “Lord, you know all things. You know that I love you.” Jesus said, "Feed my sheep.  John 21:15-17
